Sree Abirami College of Nursing: World Health Day Celebration 2026

World Health Day is an important day that should be remembered for health education, prevention, and community health awareness. The following is a special event organized by the college on April 7, 2026, at the SAH Hospital in Coimbatore.

The event was organized by the First Year B.Sc. Nursing students of Regular and Elite batches, who exhibited their knowledge and creativity through Anatomical Model Exhibition. The purpose of the celebration was to spread awareness about human health and promote active learning and participation of the community.

Anatomical Model Exhibition: Learning Through Visual Demonstration

Generally the Anatomical Model Exhibition conducted by the nursing students was a great attraction in the celebration of World Health Day. The exhibition consisted of several models of different parts of the human body that educate the visitors about the structure and functions of the human body in an interactive and simple way.

Detailed explanations and demonstrations were given by students about different organs and systems and their functions. This exhibition was a success, engaging patients, visitors, healthcare workers and fellow students, and bringing health education to everybody.

It was a great chance for students to be able to apply what they had learnt in school in the real world and helped them develop their communication and presentation skills.

Creating Awareness Beyond the Classroom

Apart from its academic activity, the exhibition was conceived as a good platform to raise the health awareness of the general public. An interactive class saw the discussion of the human body by the student, along with the significance of keeping healthy. This was a demonstration of the commitment of the institution towards grooming competent healthcare workers who would be able to educate and communicate with the public.

Pharmacy Department Conducts Medication Awareness Stall

The Pharma Stall which was organised by the Department of Pharmacy with the theme of medication awareness and rational use of medicines gave an extra value to the celebration.

The stall highlighted the importance of:

  • Understanding prescribed medications
  • Using medicines responsibly
  • To take medicines according to instructions
  • Providing information on safe medication use

It enabled visitors to learn useful information about the role of medicines within healthcare and the significance of the use of medicines.

Nutrition Stall Promotes Healthy Living

The Department of Allied Health Sciences (AHS) participated in the event with its own Nutrition Stall. The stall highlighted the importance of good nutrition and healthy lifestyle habits for overall health.

Students and visitors were given information on:

  • Eating a healthy diet and exercising moderation is crucial.
  • What a person needs to know about nutrition for health
  • Expressive Dietary Habits:
  • The importance of nutrition in preventive health care

The stall was a great educational resource, and was a reminder of the link between nutrition and health.

A Collaborative Effort for Community Health

The ability of several departments to work together was one of the major highlights of the World Health Day celebration. The teaching and learning space became multidisciplinary thanks to Nursing, Pharmacy and Allied Health Sciences staff and was an advantage for both the students and the community.

The programme encouraged:

  • Active student participation
  • Interdisciplinary learning
  • Application of health information and knowledge in practice
  • Community awareness and participation
  • An understanding of preventive health care practices.

These programs offer a great chance for the students to learn from the world outside of their classrooms and contribute towards betterment of their respective communities.

Building a Healthier Future Together

The World Health Day Celebration 2026 held at Sree Abirami College of Nursing is the ideal combination of education, awareness, and social work.
