The Accident and Emergency Care Technicians are healthcare professionals who provide urgent medical treatment, typically in an ambulance or at the site of an accident or other emergency.
They generally do not have the level of advanced training as a paramedic, although in some settings the two titles may be used interchangeably. They serve as first responders and perform initial assessments, while also providing immediate basic care such as supplying oxygen or addressing wounds and other serious injuries.
The technicians are the first responders to all kind of medical emergencies. The accident and Emergency Care trained technician’s major role is to save many precious lives along with medical team with any kind of emergency conditions.
In this Course, they are taught knowledge and skills to save the patients with various medical emergencies within and outside the hospital.
Their job objective is to stabilize patients or provide critical care until the patient can be transported to a medical facility.
The Candidates by complete this course can get good opportunities in the places such as Government / Private Trauma Centers, Emergency Departments in the Multispecialty Hospitals, Ortho Specialty Centers, Surgical Emergency Area, Pediatric Trauma Centers, Trauma Ambulance Services.
ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION
- A pass in 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry & Biology or Botany & Zoology subject or an equivalent with 12 years of Schooling from a recognized Board of University with minimum 35% marks in each subjects separately including English for all categories”. ” Home science along with Physics, Chemistry & Biology or Botany & Zoology is eligible.
AGE LIMIT FOR ADMISSION
- A candidate should have completed the age of 17 years at the time of admission or would complete the said age on or before 31 December of the year of admission to the B.Sc. DEGREE COURSES UNDER ALLIED HEALTH SCIENCES.
MEDIUM OF INSTRUCTION
- English shall be the Medium of Instruction for all the Subjects of study and for examinations of the B.Sc. DEGREE COURSES UNDER ALLIED HEALTH SCIENCES.
Admission Requirements
The following certificates / documents have to be submitted along with duly filled Application form (Originals + 4 Photostat Copies):
- Transfer Certificate from the Institution last studied.
- SSLC mark statement.
- HSC/Pre-Degree/ AISSCE/ ICSE/ CBSE /Intermediate or equivalent mark statement.
- Migration Certificate for the students who have passed other than HSC Examination of Tamil Nadu.
- Eligibility Certificate obtained from The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R Medical University, Chennai (For students who have passed their Qualifying examination other than HSC Examination, Tamil Nadu)
- Community Certificate (except OC candidates)
- Medical fitness certificate
- Passport Size Photographs (5 Nos.)
